MetroTex set out to create more than a new office building. The goal was to establish a long-term home that would make a statement the moment visitors walked through the doors and that would support the organization well into the future. M&F partnered with MetroTex to bring this vision to life through a 42,185 SF ground-up facility on a 10-acre site surrounded by natural scenery. The project focused on connecting the building to its setting, elevating the visitor experience, and creating a space that reflects the identity and ambition of the organization.

A Building Designed Around Light, Landscape, and Experience

The facility features a predominantly glass exterior that brings natural light deep into the building and provides clear views of outdoor meeting and seating areas. These outdoor spaces were intentionally incorporated into the design to encourage collaboration, reflection, and a sense of openness. Inside, the headquarters includes training and conference rooms, a banquet hall, office spaces, and flexible meeting areas that support a wide range of organizational needs. A signature spiral staircase serves as a focal point in the interior, creating an immediate impression of craftsmanship and thoughtful design. Warm wood siding, high-quality finishes, and modern architectural details further reinforce the building’s welcoming and contemporary character.

Navigating a Unique Site Through Smart Planning and Engineering

The site presented several distinctive challenges that required careful planning. To provide access to the building, the team constructed a bridge across water, which required substantial engineering coordination and thoughtful logistics. With TxDOT property located directly on the opposite side of the project, the team also navigated right-of-way constraints while keeping the project moving forward. Extensive parking requirements were incorporated into the site layout in a way that supported the facility without diminishing the natural surroundings or the visual presence of the building. Through proactive planning and close communication, M&F delivered a site solution that functions efficiently and aligns with the long-term needs of MetroTex.

The completed MetroTex headquarters stands as a meaningful home for the organization and a facility designed to serve generations of members and staff.
