The History That Makes The Future Possible

At M&F, we honor where we came from and continue building what’s next.

“People are first and foremost. Without people, we cannot build anything. They really are the foundation of what we do.”

Brittney Hale Director of People, M&F

"Our client's vision is our vision. We are part of their team. If they want a certain aspect changed in the middle of construction, we want to make that happen. If they want something done earlier, we'll figure out a way to do it. We are there every step of the way throughout the process."

Daniel Iozzi Superintendent, M&F

“At M&F, we pride ourselves on doing more than just building. We are a true partner, and that means we ask questions others might miss. That’s a bold statement, and one that we’re proud to back up every day.”

46 Years of Deep History

image

1979-1984

Founded in Fort Worth by Harold Muckleroy, Muckleroy Construction completed its first warehouse project and welcomed Max Falls as Vice President of Operations. From the beginning, the company was built on a foundation of precision, partnership, and work ethic that continues to define M&F today.

1985-1989

The firm continued to build its reputation across Texas by establishing lasting relationships, including the beginning of a partnership with TTI, Inc. that would span more than 40 years. Those were challenging times that tested everyone, yet they also revealed the true character and resilience of the team. As one TTI leader put it, he would “trust this team with his checkbook,” a defining compliment that spoke volumes about the integrity and reputation that were built.

1990-1994

As the dot-com era began reshaping the business landscape, the team adapted its presence to meet the needs of a changing commercial market. The firm’s commitment to excellence positioned it as a trusted partner for clients navigating a period of economic and technology shifts.

1995-1999

Harold Muckleroy and Max Falls formalized their partnership, creating Muckleroy & Falls and establishing headquarters on Riverfront Drive. Their shared vision to lead with integrity and build with excellence set the tone for decades of success.

2000-2004

High-profile projects like Mouser Electronics’ headquarters marked a new scale of work and visibility for the firm, signaling its evolution from a trusted regional builder to a sought-after commercial contractor.

2005-2009

M&F achieved a significant revenue milestone during this period and delivered more than 100 projects for industrial, community, retail, and office clients. The era also marked the beginning of the next generation as Zach Muckleroy joined the firm, helping shape its future growth and leadership.

2010-2014

With long-term planning and a new generation of leaders in place, M&F continued to strengthen its foundation. Taylor Hale joined the firm as Vice President of Preconstruction, enhancing the company’s focus on planning, estimating, technology and client collaboration. This period marked an important step forward as M&F demonstrated its ability to deliver complex, high-quality commercial projects that reflected the company’s growing expertise and contribution to Dallas-Fort Worth’s continued development.

2015-2019

The continued development of the preconstruction and operations teams had a profound impact, fostering greater collaboration, precision, and trust across every project. Taylor Hale was named Partner, further strengthening the firm’s leadership and strategic vision. During this time, M&F expanded into the hospitality market and was recognized as one of Fort Worth’s Best Places to Work, underscoring its commitment to a people-first culture.

After more than four decades of guiding M&F, Max Falls and Harold Muckleroy stepped into retirement, marking a defining moment in the company’s story. Though no longer active in the day-to-day business, the values and leadership they instilled continue to shape who we are. Their commitment, character, and unwavering belief in doing things the right way remain embedded in our culture and guide our path forward.

2020-2024

As trusted clients expanded into new markets, M&F grew alongside them, entering the multifamily sector and opening an Austin office to better serve Central Texas. To support this growth, the firm introduced several new positions to enhance the client experience and strengthen operational excellence. During this period, M&F was recognized by AIA Fort Worth and Historic Fort Worth for its achievements in construction and preservation.
